Vihrea laser mittaa myös veden alle

Batylaser scanners

The bathymetric scanner category is specifically designed for aerial mapping of coastal areas, rivers and shallow bodies of water. Unlike traditional laser scanners that only measure the contours of the land surface, RIEGL bathymetric systems utilize a green laser that is able to penetrate the water surface and accurately measure the contours of the bottom.

Valikoimasta löytyy niin ultrakevyitä, kuten vain 5,4 kg painava VUX-820-G, which is optimized for medium-sized drones, rather than for coastal mapping at high altitudes that requires more robust systems.

RIEGL's Waveform analysis plays a critical role in this category; it distinguishes between water surface reflection, noise caused by water turbidity, and the actual bottom echo. The result is a clean and reliable point cloud that can be used in flood risk analysis, environmental research, and waterway maintenance, among other applications.

TALLINNAN DEMO 2026

Tallinnassa kevään 2026 demossa Rieglin pienimmällä vihreällä laserskannerilla RIEGL VUX-820-G saavutettiin 8 m syvyys. Saavutus on erinomainen Itämeren vesiolosuhteissa. Tämän UAV-laserskannerin luvattu secchisyvyys on 2,2,mutta isommalla VQ-860 mallilla saavutetaan 3 secchin syvyys.

Viron rannikon kivisyys

Viron rannikko on erittäin kivinen ja matala, mutta tiheässä pistepilvessä vedenalaiset ja myös pinnan yläpuolella kurottavat kivet näkyvät hyvin. Kuvassa merenpohja on korkeusvärjätty.

Mittauksen tehokkuus

LASER SCANNERS

Why choose RIEGL technology?
Riegl's LiDAR technology doesn't just measure distances, it analyzes the world.

  • Ultimate LiDAR Technology: RIEGL is known for uncompromising accuracy, reliability and innovative waveform processing. Unique waveform-based digitization enables extreme accuracy and the ability to see through dense vegetation – where other scanners go blind.

  • Unlimited number of echoes (Multi-Target Capability): A single laser pulse can produce countless measured points as it passes through obstacles. This is critical in terrain modeling under dense vegetation.

  • Signal quality analysis: The sensor records not only the location, but also the shape and intensity of the reflection. You get cleaner data and automatic object classification (e.g. asphalt vs. gravel) directly from the waveform.

  • Demanding multi-target situations: The technology can filter out interference, such as false echoes caused by dust or rain, allowing the time required for post-processing is significantly reduced..

  • Durability and quality: The devices are designed to withstand heavy professional use and demanding field conditions year after year.
Seamless workflow: RIEGL software offers an efficient path from data collection to finished, high-quality point clouds.

  • Not a startup company: These laser scanners have been used to survey several countries around the world, including Finland, millions of kilometers of roads, cities and nature.

  • After-sales service and support: At Nordic Geocenter, we offer full expert support and training for all systems we represent.
